Creative Writing Beginners: Voices from the Cathedral

Thursdays 7-9pm.

The first of three 10 week terms starts on Thursday 24th September 2009.

Have you always wanted to write fiction but lacked the confidence and the inspiration? This course will give you the self belief and the practical writing skills you need. Delivered in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere, students can use the Cathedral as an inspiration and a resource as well as looking at aspects of writing technique. Each term ends with a social and a light hearted sharing of readings! Tutor: Patricia Mullin.

 Art Studio

Starts Monday 21st September 2009  10am– 12.30pm

Experiment with a variety of techniques and mediums with expert tuition. A friendly and supportive class with access to the Cathedral and the Close for inspiration. Visitors from the

Cathedral  community will inform students understanding of the building past and present.

Tutor: Patricia Mullin

Cost: £98 per term plus £15 materials.

 

 

Day Schools and workshops

 

Poetry Workshop:

Saturday 26th  September  2009 10am-4pm

Be inspired by the Cathedral roof bosses—unique stories in stone. The day starts with a roof boss tour and a look at resources available in the Cathedral Library. See Noah and his Ark , cross the Red Sea , encounter minstrels and a washerwoman and tussle with the Apocalypse. An informal workshop—all welcome.
